Crème Brulee food truck rolls into Lawrence

For four years, Eric and Julie Ireland have been serving up crème brûlée in Phoenix, Arizona, all out of a big green food truck called Torched Goodness. While their business has really caught fire, the Ireland’s decided it was time for a change and headed to the heartland.

“We’re hoping to do what we did in Phoenix and be on the ground level of a trend taking off, and Lawrence is a town we really want to be a part of,” Eric Ireland, Chef and Owner said.

However, you won’t find the big green truck just anywhere around Lawrence due to city regulations. The Ireland’s hope to appeal to private parties, corporate events, and weddings for all catering needs, in both the Lawrence and Kansas City areas.

“It’s bringing a desert that’s not that accessible to the streets and it’s affordable,” Julie Ireland, Owner said.

Using all local ingredients, Torched Goodness takes the custard filled treat, and makes over 30 different flavors.

“Everything from sea salt caramel, which is our top seller, to traditional vanilla,” Julie Ireland said.

The sweet treat that can be traditionally found in fine dining establishments comes in three different sizes, and a variety of prices.

“Our prices are $2, $3, and $5,” Julie Ireland said.
